Quote of the day: Octavio Paz on the nihilism of technology (and some related goodies from me)

Octavio Paz  “The nihilism of technology lies not only in the fact that it is the most perfect expression of the will to power, as Heidegger believes, but also in the fact that it lacks meaning. Why? and To what purpose? are questions that technology does not ask itself.”

I often refer to a similar bottom line when I say that ‘technology does not have ethics’, and sometimes like to riff of Heidegger, as well, when I say that ‘technology is not what we seek but how we seek‘ (see below)
